DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune Celebrated International Nurses Day 2025

Pune, 16th May 2025: DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune celebrated International Nurses Day 2025 at its auditorium with the theme: “Our Nurses, Our Future: Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies.”
The programme began with a welcome address, followed by the Nurses Pledge, prayer song and lamp lighting ceremony. A key moment of the event was the release of handbook for nurses on Best Infusion Practices. The event also featured a felicitation of dignitaries and judges, along with prize distribution to recognize outstanding nursing contributions.
As part of the celebrations, the hospital organized a week-long series of engaging activities to honour and involve the nursing staff. Each day featured dedicated events including a Men’s Cricket Tournament, poster exhibitions, a Skill Lab Seminar, cultural performances like singing and dancing, and a quiz competition titled ‘KBG – Kaun Banega Gyan Pati’.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Dr. (Mrs.) Bhagyashree Patil, Pro Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune, said, “Nurses are the strength of our healthcare system, their presence, care and compassion often speak louder than words. Even on the hardest days, they show up with purpose, healing hearts and lives in ways that go beyond medicine. Their quiet resilience is the foundation on which recovery is built and for that, they deserve not just our respect, but our deepest gratitude.”
Hon’ble Dr. Yashraj Patil, Trustee and Treasurer of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune, said, “Nurses are the backbone of a hospital’s care system. Their quiet strength, dedication and compassion leave a lasting impact not just on patients, but on the entire healthcare ecosystem. On this Nurses Day, we honour their tireless efforts and reaffirm our commitment to supporting and uplifting the nursing community in every way possible.”
Dr. Rekha Arcot, Dean of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, said, “When we talk about healthcare, everyone acknowledges that doctors and nurses form the cornerstone of good outcomes. But what often goes unrecognized is the emotional attention nurses give beyond their duties. It’s not just about administering injections or assisting with procedures, nurses hold hands, guide patients and offer comfort in moments of fear and uncertainty.
