Emergency Landing At Nagpur Airport After Bomb Threat On IndiGo Flight From Kochi To Delhi

Nagpur, 17th June 2025: An IndiGo flight en route from Kochi to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur on Tuesday after a bomb threat was reported.
According to initial reports, airline officials received an alert regarding the presence of a bomb onboard the flight. As per standard operating procedures, the aircraft was promptly diverted and safely landed in Nagpur.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lohit Matani confirmed the development, stating, “Following a bomb threat, IndiGo flight 6E 2706 operating on the Muscat–Kochi–Delhi route was diverted to Nagpur for an emergency landing. All passengers have been safely deboarded. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspicious object has been found so far.”
A Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was immediately deployed to the scene, and a thorough search operation was initiated. Passengers were evacuated safely, and the aircraft was isolated for inspection.
According to the information received, security at the airport has been heightened, with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police maintaining a high-alert status while efforts continue to trace the source of the threat.
