Experience Affordable Travel Comfort at Pune Airport’s New Udaan Yatri Café

Viman Nagar, 28th April 2025: The Udaan Yatri Café at Pune International Airport was inaugurated today by Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, in the esteemed presence of Bapusaheb Pathare, Dr. H. Srinivas (IRPS), Member (HR) of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Board, and the Airport Director, Pune.

A congratulatory video message from Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, was also played during the ceremony. In his message, Naidu commended the initiatives at Pune Airport and appreciated the efforts to create a more passenger-centric environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohol said, “In a step towards making air travel more accessible and comfortable, the ‘Udaan Café’ at Pune Airport has started operations from Monday, April 28, 2025.

Passengers can now enjoy tea and bottled water at ₹10, and coffee, samosas, and sweets at ₹20, making air travel easier and a lot more welcoming.

After receiving an overwhelming response at Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chennai airports, ‘Udaan Café’ is now ready to serve travelers at Pune International Airport.”

The Udaan Yatri Café is a visionary initiative by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, aimed at offering affordable food and beverages at airports, particularly benefiting travelers under the UDAN scheme. These cafes provide essential refreshments—such as water, tea, coffee, and snacks—at significantly lower prices than typical airport outlets, making air travel more accessible and comfortable for all sections of society.

Furthering this commitment, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has established the Udaan Yatri Café inside the terminal building of Pune Airport. This initiative reinforces the government’s ongoing efforts to promote affordable air travel and enhance the overall passenger experience.

The café’s menu offers a range of pocket-friendly options: tea at ₹10, coffee at ₹20, bottled water at ₹10, Pune’s iconic vada pav or samosas at ₹20, and a “Sweet of the Day” at ₹20—ensuring travelers can enjoy quality refreshments at modest prices.

Strategically located in the departure area of Pune Airport, the Udaan Yatri Café is easily accessible to all passengers. It upholds the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and service. Notably, the café is operated and managed entirely by an all-women team, promoting women’s empowerment and inclusion in aviation services.
