Massive Fire After LPG Tanker-Minibus Collision on Mumbai-Goa Highway, 30 Injured

Ratnagiri, 8th June 2025: A major accident occurred on Sunday morning on the Mumbai-Goa highway in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, after a fierce collision between an LPG gas tanker and a minibus. The impact triggered a massive fire due to a gas leak, causing widespread destruction in the area.
The fire, which quickly spread after the explosion, engulfed a nearby house, a cowshed, and several vehicles. Tragically, many cows in the shed were burned in the blaze. A consignment of mangoes being transported was also reduced to ashes.
According to officials, the fire continued to spread in nearby areas due to the ongoing leakage from the LPG tanker. As a precautionary measure, authorities halted traffic on the busy Mumbai-Goa highway and initiated emergency response operations to contain the gas leak.
30 passengers traveling in the minibus sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of some of the injured is reported to be serious. Meanwhile, local authorities evacuated residents from the surrounding area to prevent further casualties.
Firefighters and disaster management teams have been deployed to the site, working to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further.
