Mumbai, 22nd June 2025: Mumbai Police have registered a case against a cab driver and two unidentified men for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman pilot while she was on her way home to Ghatkopar from South Mumbai on the night of Friday, June 19.

According to police officials, the incident took place around 11:15 PM, when the woman, who is married to an Indian Navy officer, hired a cab to return to her residence. The officer is currently residing in a naval residential complex, while the woman stays in Ghatkopar due to the unavailability of government accommodation.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that about 25 minutes into the journey, the driver diverted from the regular route and allowed two unknown men to board the cab. One of the men sat beside her in the back seat and allegedly touched her inappropriately.

When she objected, the man reportedly threatened her, while the cab driver did nothing to intervene. A police checkpoint was visible ahead, prompting the two men to flee the vehicle and escape on foot before the cab could be stopped.

After reaching home, the woman confronted the driver about the incident, but he refused to respond. The next morning, she informed her husband, and the couple approached the Ghatkopar Police Station to register a formal complaint.

Police have booked the accused under Sections 75(1), 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigations are currently underway to identify and apprehend the two men who fled the scene.
