Pune, 22nd May 2025: The first day of the First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admission process was met with frustration and confusion among students and parents in Pune, as technical issues and missing documents delayed form submissions.

Several users reported that the official admission portal remained inaccessible for most of the day due to maintenance work. Adding to the stress, many parents expressed concern over the requirement to upload original Class 10 marksheets and school leaving certificates—documents that are yet to be distributed by several schools.

“We tried filling the form during the demo session on May 19, and everything worked fine,” said a parent from Kothrud. “But since morning today, the website hasn’t been responding properly. To make things worse, the system is asking for original documents that we still haven’t received from the school.”

According to her, their school informed parents that the original marksheets had not yet arrived from the education board, and therefore the school leaving certificates could not be issued either. “We’ve been told the marksheets will only be available on May 26, but the registration deadline is May 28. That gives us just two days to upload everything. It’s extremely stressful,” she said.

Parents questioned the logic of announcing Class 10 results early while failing to ensure timely delivery of necessary documents. “What’s the point of an early result if the system isn’t prepared for the admission process?” asked another parent.

Amid growing concerns, Mahesh Palkar, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, issued a statement urging families not to worry. “We are aware of the technical and document-related difficulties being faced by applicants. A revised admission schedule will be shared by 3 PM on Thursday. All students will be given enough time to complete the process,” he assured.
